Toyota sold 32,086 units in April 2026, which is about 4,757 units more than it sold in the same month last year, registering a year-on-year increase of 17%. While the supplies in the domestic market rose to to 30,159 units from 24,833 units in April 2025, exhibiting a year-on-year growth of 21%, Toyota reported dip in its international shipments by 23% YoY to 1,927 units from 2,496 units sold in April of last year. The strong acceptance of its products as well as consistent focus on buyers needs are one of the factors behind Toyota’s continued success in the market. The cumulative sales milestone of over 2 lakh for the Innova Hycross also helped brand in maintaining upward trajectory last month. Toyota offers a range of SUVs, hatchbacks and MPVs in India, including the Fortuner, Glanza, Innova Crysta, Camry, Hilux and Vellfire.

Toyota Recorded 19% YoY Growth in Jan–April 2026

Banking on the success of its monthly performances this year, the Hycross manufacturer managed to achieve a positive growth across the board during the period of January and April 2026. Overall, the company sold 1.37 lakh units in the first four months of 2026, showing a rise of 19% year-on-year. For reference, only 1.15 lakh units were sold during the corresponding period in 2025. The automaker’s domestic sales for Jan-April 2026 rose to 1.27 lakh, from 1.06 lakh units in the same period last year, marking a gain of 20% YoY. Toyota exported 10,543 units during the period compared to 9,359 units in January–April 2025, which is a rise of a 13%.

Upcoming Toyota Cars in India

Toyota will strengthen its footprint in the growing market of SUVs and MPVs of India by launching some of the most anticipated cars, including the new Land Cruiser FJ, the third-gen Fortuner and the Urban Cruiser Ebella, which is basically a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.

The Ebella has already made its debut in India, and the prices are expected to be announced sometime soon. While it is too early to comment, Toyota is likely to price its electric SUV slightly higher than its donor model, the e Vitara (starts at Rs 15.99 lakh with battery included, ex-showroom).
