As the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced re-NEET on June 21, the Punjab government has announced free bus travel for all students who are participating in the re-examination next month. The Bhagwant Mann-led government has told students that they will be offered free bus rides on June 20, 21 and 22 to appear for NEET UG 2026.
“Many poor children take the NEET paper. They don’t even have money for the fare to go to the center. Just now, when Mr. Kejriwal spoke with the NEET children, the children demanded help. The NEET paper is on June 21. So, the Punjab government has decided that on June 20, 21, and 22, the fare will be waived for all children going to take the NEET exam on all Punjab Roadways buses. Show your admit card, and you won’t have to pay for the ticket,” Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab tweeted on his official ‘X’ account.
A few hours before Bhagwant Mann’s tweet, former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal had tweeted a video for the students appearing for re-NEET. “Dear NEET students, I am touched by the number of messages and intensity of your feelings. U trusted me. Thank you. Stay strong. Make a resolve – ki doctor ban ke rahenge. God bless u all,” he tweeted.
“Aam Aadmi Party’s government was in Delhi for 10 years, not a single paper leaked. For four years, there’s been a government in Punjab, and not a single paper leaked. Because we were honest. So if the people at the top of the system are honest, papers won’t leak,” he added.
NTA announced a re-exam for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 following allegations of widespread paper leak. This means that students who appeared for the May 3 exam will now have to re-appear for the medical entrance examination. As per the official timeline shared by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and NTA, the NEET UG 2026 re-exam will now be held from June 21, 2026 (Sunday).
As a compensation, students will be given 15 minutes extra for the medical entrance exam. Thus, the revised exam timings will be 2 pm to 5:15 pm.
