Cristiano Ronaldo is ageing like fine wine, and there is simply no stopping him from scoring. After slotting home from the penalty spot, Ronaldo, 41, has now scored 965 goals and is just 35 shy of 1,000. Continuing his remarkable run, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner scored his 925th goal with a header against Al-Wehda on February 25, 2025. Exactly one year later, on February 25, 2026, he netted his 965th goal with a penalty against Al-Najma – an impressive jump of 40 goals in 365 days.
Ronaldo’s goal was his third on the trot since returning to the line-up (after a boycott of his team), and he also became the all-time top Scorer in Al Nassr history. Furthermore, Ronaldo has scored 121 goals in 136 appearances for Al-Nassr across all competitions.
Ronaldo demolishes records, but last year he confessed that individual feats no longer drive him.
He emphasised that being the best was no longer important to him and that his focus was now on team success rather than personal achievement.

“I am used to breaking records, and I no longer look for them. The most important thing for me now is to enjoy and help Al Nassr and my teammates to win.”
Despite this shift in priorities, Ronaldo has also expressed his ambition to reach the milestone of 1,000 career goals.
“I want to reach 1,000 goals,” said the Al Nassr and Portugal star, estimating that the historic mark could come around the age of 41. “If I don’t have any injuries, this for me is the most important [thing], I want that. For me, the best mark that I can have in football is to reach, first, 900 goals. After, my challenge is to be at 1,000 goals.”
Alongside his pursuit of scoring records, Ronaldo also drew attention by debuting his new slam dunk celebration after scoring, moving away from his iconic ‘Siu’ trademark.
