Ashwin Dhar is currently riding high on the blockbuster success of Dhurandhar 2. The actor is seen as a dreaded gangster of Lyari, Arshad Pappu. The actor, who was a part of both installments, starred alongside Ranveer Singh, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and others. Amid Dhurandhar The Revenge‘s mammoth success, Zoom exclusively interacted with the actor. In conversation with us, Ashwin opened up about the most-talked-about football scene from Dhurandhar 2. The scene features his character Arshad Pappu’s brutal killing by Danish’s Uzair Baloch.

In Dhurandhar The Revenge, Uzair Baloch brutally kills Arshad Pappu. After beheading him, he plays football with his severed head. Now, during an exclusive conversation, Ashwin reflected on challenging it was to shoot that sequence for Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller.
“It was quite a task… knowing that Arshad Pappu’s head was knocked off and football was played with his head. So, we knew about it. When you actually do it, it’s a different game altogether. It took us almost two days to shoot that sequence, although it was a very small sequence,” he said. The actor added that the sequence had to be done with a lot of precision and they had to be careful about everything because it was brutal action.
“It was done with a lot of carefulness, but it was tiring. There was heat, you’re lying down on the bonnet of a jeep and being dragged and then your head is being cut. It was a big scene. People are making memes and talking about this particular scene,” the actor added. He also mentioned that the team knew it was going to be a highlight of the movie.

Continuing the conversation, Ashwin revealed how he prepped to play the character of Arshad Pappu in Dhurandhar 2. The actor mentioned that he did research and understood what kind of a person the gangster was and what he had done. The actor added that Arshad Pappu was a ‘brutal’ gangster.
“He had massacred all the close relatives and even brutally killed Rehman Dakait’s father. It was like, ‘How should you go about it and portray this character?’ That was a challenge. I accepted it and thought about it and tried to think like one of those gangsters, especially Arshad Pappu. How would he do it? That was the preparation behind it,” he said, and signed off.
