The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main provisional answer key issued on April 11, 2026, is drawing massive criticism online, with many claiming that the entire answer key for 5th April shift 2 for the chemistry subject is incorrect. They’ve been questioning the authorities, “Why? Why can’t students have anxiety-free results?”
When the issue escalated, the National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a statement that reads, “ Reports regarding discrepancies in the JEE Chemistry paper (5 April, S2) have been noted on social media and are currently under verification. NTA regrets the inconvenience caused. Candidates are advised not to make any payments related to challenges for these until an official clarification is issued.”
After the release of a provisional answer key, candidates are asked to raise objections for subject experts to review and take a call. However, in the current scenario, a whole answer key is being labelled ‘incorrect’; if the candidates decide to challenge it, they may end up paying a hefty amount, considering each challenge costs Rs 200.
Therefore, NTA has asked the candidates not to make payments related to challenges until an official clarity is given.
