Billionaire Les Wexner is under renewed scrutiny after a video from his February 18, 2026, deposition before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee began circulating online. Although the former retail executive addressed multiple questions about his past dealings with Jeffrey Epstein, one specific moment from the testimony has drawn widespread attention on social media.
In the clip released by the panel, Wexner’s attorney can allegedly be heard whispering: “I will fu–ing kill you if you answer another question with more than five words, ok?” The remark quickly went viral, fueling debate about the tone and conduct during the high-profile deposition.
The attorney identified in the footage is Matthew Zeiger of Zeiger, Tigges & Little LLP.

The deposition was conducted under subpoena as part of the committee’s investigation into the case of late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Wexner, the former CEO of Victoria’s Secret and a one-time Epstein client, has not been charged in connection with Epstein’s crimes. However, he was recently named as a potential secondary co-conspirator in materials released by the Justice Department, though the memo noted there was “limited evidence regarding his involvement.”
The Oversight Committee posted Wexner’s full nearly five-hour testimony on YouTube amid pressure on Republicans to hold powerful figures accountable. The renewed attention also comes after the arrest of former British prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who has been implicated in the Epstein files.
What Did Les Wexner Tell the House Committee About His Ties to Epstein, Trump, and More?
During his deposition in Ohio, Wexner made several key statements:
- He said he was “conned by the World Olympic, all-time con artist,” describing Epstein as “diabolical” and comparing him unfavorably to Bernie Madoff.
- He insisted he severed ties with Epstein after learning of the sex trafficking allegations, recalling that he confronted Epstein in the 2000s by asking, “What the hell is this?”
- He claimed Epstein told him he was being “shaken down by a hooker,” and Wexner said he initially believed him.
- He maintained their relationship was professional and that he never considered Epstein a friend.
- Wexner said Epstein would “name-drop” figures such as Donald Trump, President Clinton, the Pope, and even “God.”
- He said he was “effing shocked” to learn that about $20 million from his charitable entities allegedly went to one of Epstein’s charities.
- He acknowledged visiting Epstein’s Palm Beach home, New Mexico ranch, and island, describing the island as a “pretty crummy island.”
- He suggested Epstein may have stolen from others as well, but that victims could be reluctant to speak out due to embarrassment.
Wexner also said he is “happy that today is happening” and expressed a desire to help hold Epstein accountable.
