A name called Cody Rudland has appeared in the Jeffrey Epstein files released on January 31. According to the public archive, one email from this sender had the subject “You are dead” with the message saying “Lol good riddance.” This email appears to be one of the last messages received in Epstein’s account before his death.
The email and the name circulated on social media and Reddit, with users speculating or joking about who Cody Rudland might be. However, there is no verified information about this person’s existence or who it is.
Officials say that being mentioned in the files does not mean involvement in any crime or wrongdoing. The email simply exists as part of the public records.
How Can People Explore The Epstein Emails?
A new tool called Jmail has made it easier for the public to view the Epstein email archive. Jmail shows the released Epstein emails like a Gmail inbox, making them easier to read than PDFs or scans.
The tool, made by Riley Walz and Luke Igel, lets people scroll through messages, open email threads, and search for names or words.
Jmail uses AI and OCR to make hard-to-read documents easy to read and search. It also links to other parts of the Epstein Files, like Jphotos for images, JDrive for documents, JFlights for flight logs, and Jamazon for online purchases.
All the information on Jmail comes from public records, and no private emails are added.
The Epstein files show emails involving high-profile figures such as US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates, Howard Lutnick, and former White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler. Being named in the files does not imply criminal activity.
Epstein died in a New York jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Previously, he served time in Florida for soliciting prostitution from a minor.
His associate Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking in 2021 and is serving a 20-year prison sentence in Texas.
