Linking your mobile number to Voter ID or Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) is now a quick and hassle-free online process. For millions of voters it will increase accessibility to access their e-EPIC (Digital Voter ID), receive the details of their polling booths for the elections notices by text or email, and view where and how to vote, without having to visit any office.
In addition to access to an e-EPIC, link your phone number to your Voter ID, and you will have constant access to all services provided by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
As per Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa (CEO) linking your mobile number is mandatory for voters to enjoy the advantages of an electronically downloadable e-EPIC, as it will allow you will have 24/7 access to your Voter ID. Those who register to vote as new voters on Form 6 can now download their voter ID within 10-15 days of registration and will not need to wait for physical cards being posted out to them, for existing voters whose mobile numbers are linked to their ID, they can now download their ID anytime, anywhere. This initiative supports ECI’s goal to enhance Digital Governance and Create Convenience for Voters throughout the nation.

Making any changes to your personal information can now be done “in just a few clicks.” To get started, follow these simple steps:
1. Go to the portal – Access the ECI site here: voters.eci.gov.in.
2. Log in with your mobile number or email address.
3. Choose Form 8 – This is for making corrections and additions to your data.
4. Fill out your EPIC Details – Indicate whether you are applying on your own behalf, and provide the Voter ID of the individual applying.
5. Select Correction mode – This option is designated under the ‘Correction of Entries in Existing Electoral Roll’ section. Include your mobile number.
6. Make sure when verifying that the name on your Voter ID matches the name on your Aadhaar for a smooth transition to the new interface.

As per UP CEO, a very important thing regarding the name mismatch between the Voter ID and Aadhaar cards when linking the two online. He explained to all voters to reach out to their Booth Level Officers (BLO) if the names between the two documents do not match, so that they can fix the information offline (using Form 8) prior to linking to the mobile application.

After linking their mobile number, voters have access to the ECINET mobile application or can search by going to electoralsearch.eci.gov.in within seconds, to locate their polling station and serial number. Scanning the QR code displayed on the digital card will provide them with all information about their respective booths immediately, which will prevent last-minute confusion on Election Day.

Deadline Notice for Relocated Voters and Complaints
Any voter who shifted due to new job or marriage is required to complete Form 8 before the March 6 deadline to include their new address on the final voters list. The Chief Electoral Officer has also made available through his official X (formerly Twitter) account the contact information of the District Election Officers for every district to improve communications. Now, if any citizen has questions or complaints regarding his/her voter registration list, he/she can directly contact their District Election Officer.
