Pakistan Boycott India, T20 World Cup Live Updates: Bangladesh could join the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and ICC meeting today in Lahore. Reportedly, the Bangladesh, PCB, and ICC will try to solve the deadlock that led to Pakistan’s boycott of India in T20 World Cup. Earlier this week, the PCB told ICC that they will pull out of the IND vs PAK match due to a government order to show solidarity with Bangladesh, who were replaced by Scotland after they refused to play in India due to security issues. India vs Pakistan is a big money game, and Pakistan pulling out would mean a 2200 crore loss for the ICC. The boards over the last few days have reportedly been involved in backchannel talks to solve the deadlock, with many reports stating the ICC has told PCB that it may face sanctions if they pull out of the match.
Meanwhile, following the PCB’s threat, Sri Lanka reached out to the PCB and asked them to reverse the decision as it would hurt their revenue. Sri Lanka said that it supported PCB when other countries refused to play in Pakistan, and now they should return the favour. A PCB source said that PCB will again consult the government based on Sri Lanka’s request.
