Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh has publicly announced his exit as brand ambassador from “The Universal Idol” associated with HMC Events, alleging serious payment irregularities and issuing a word of caution to fellow artists and collaborators. In a formal statement, Neil Nitin Mukesh declared that he is withdrawing from all present and future associations with Universal Idol, HMC Events, and Mr. Shakeel Hassan and his associates with immediate effect. The actor cited non-payment of agreed dues despite repeated assurances. According to his note, three cheques issued towards his payment were returned unpaid or bounced, which he described as a serious breach of trust and commitment.
Neil Nitin Mukesh wanted matter to be resolved amicably but…
Neil stated that multiple follow-ups were made by both him and his team, and several opportunities were provided to resolve the issue amicably. However, the matter allegedly remained unresolved. In light of these circumstances, he chose to formally sever ties with the organisation.
Importantly, Neil’s statement also carried a strong advisory for others in the industry. He said the note was issued in the interest of transparency and to caution fellow artists, partners, vendors, and collaborators to exercise due diligence and be mindful of claims, commitments, and payment assurances made. He further asserted that he reserves all rights to pursue appropriate remedies available under the law.

Neil Nitin Mukesh work front
On the work front, Neil Nitin Mukesh chose his 44th birthday to treat his fans to a major career update by announcing his Malayalam debut in director Vysakh’s much-anticipated action thriller, Khalifa. Having already worked across Hindi, Tamil and Telugu cinema, Neil is now stepping into the Malayalam film industry with what promises to be a high-octane project. The announcement was shared by leading man Prithviraj Sukumaran, who welcomed Neil with a heartfelt birthday wish on social media. Neil, equally excited, posted about “going for gold” as he proudly revealed his first Malayalam venture.
In Khalifa, Prithviraj plays Aamir Ali in a gripping revenge drama set against the backdrop of a sprawling multi-million-dollar gold smuggling racket operating out of the Middle East, with links stretching from London and Nepal to Kerala. The film’s teaser hints at an intense narrative involving customs officials, interrogation sequences, and references to the COFEPOSA Act, building strong anticipation among fans. Khalifa also marks Vysakh’s reunion with Prithviraj after 15 years since their 2010 hit, Pokkiri Raja.
