Pakistan T20 World Cup 2026 Participation Live: The Pakistan cricket team is mulling over boycotting the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is upset at the International Cricket Council (ICC) for replacing Bangladesh with Scotland. The Bangladesh Cricket Board raised security concerns in India and requested the ICC to shift their matches out of India to Sri Lanka. The concerns were raised after BCCI released Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League (IPL). The ICC and BCB were involved in many talks over the last few weeks, but to no avail. The BCB was firm on the stance, and the ICC found no credible security threat in India. As a result, they told Bangladesh to play in India, warning that they’ll be replaced if they refuse. Bangladesh did not agree to play in India, and the ICC replaced them with Scotland.
The PCB closely watched the entire episode and sided with Bangladesh, alleging bias by the ICC towards India. The PCB kept ICC on toes after it refused to confirm the participation. Even though the squad for the T20 World Cup was announced on January 25, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi said that the final decision will be taken by Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif. With only a few days left before the T20 World Cup gets underway, these are nervous times for the participating boards and the fans.
