Piers Morgan has officially fallen on his own sword, questioning why a swarm of Australian “convicts” are lining up to gloat in his face following England’s dismal showing in the Test arena.
With England failing to secure a single victory and the Australian team already retaining the Ashes urn with a dominant 3-0 lead, the polarising media figure took to social media to vent his frustrations.
“Went to Harrods this morning and had at least a dozen Australians come up to me gloating about the Ashes,” Morgan posted on X.

The irony isn’t lost on cricket fans.
Prior to the start of the Ashes, the British broadcaster confidently declared England would win the Ashes 4-0 or 5-0.
Fans can only imagine the grin spreading across skipper Pat Cummins’ face as Morgan’s pre-series bravado comes back to haunt him.
“They are pretty brave from the other side of the world,” the Aussie skipper told Nine’s Today back in October.
“Whatever it is to stay relevant.”
Even on the other side of the world, Morgan hasn’t been able to escape the consequences of his own commentary.
It is easy to see why the media personality so frazzled; being cornered in London by Australian fans waiting for the perfect moment to show their Ashes receipts.
Although Morgan conceded defeat, saying the Australian side “hammered” their rivals, it’s sure to be a tough pill to swallow for England’s loudest cheerleader.
The Boxing Day test will start on December 26, with Australia naming their 15-player squad – captain Cummins and Nathan Lyon out of the line-up for replacements Jhye Richardson and Todd Murphy
