Bengaluru: US Ambassador Sergio Gor enjoyed an auto ride, tried a masala dosa and sipped filter coffee as he spent a day in Bengaluru’s with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya. In a post on X, the BJP MP said he welcomed US ambassador to Karnataka capital. Surya said that they had an engaging conversation over some masala dosa, strong filter coffee on the growing India US partnership. The two especially discussed trade, technology and innovation following the interim trade agreement.
“Over some masala dosa & strong coffee at Filter Coffee, Indiranagar, we had an engaging conversation on the growing India US partnership, especially in trade, technology and innovation following the interim trade agreement. Also introduced him to Namma Auto. A memorable ride indeed,” Tejasvi Surya posted on X, and coupled it with some memorable photos.
In another post on X, Surya said, “Bengaluru truly represents the journey from masala dosa to machine learning, blending tradition with cutting-edge innovation and plays a vital role in strengthening economic and people to people ties between our two democracies.”
“With over 700 American companies and 43 per cent of India’s software exports coming from Bengaluru, our city is central to US India economic ties. Home to 40 per cent of India’s GCCs, Bengaluru continues to drive innovation led partnership between our two democracies,” Surya added.
The BJP MP later shared a small video on his X page showing him and US Ambassador sharing a late-night auto ride. In the video, Tejashvi Surya tells Gor, “Ambassador welcome to Bengaluru, India’s best and most happening city and thank you so much for what you are doing for India-US relationship.”
Gor complimented Surya’s gesture saying, “…most incredible host here… in Bengaluru for the first time.” The nearly 30 second video gave a glimpse of the two taking the late night auto ride to explore the city.
Sergio Gor Visits Indian Army’s Western Command Headquarters
Earlier in the day, Sergio Gor and Admiral Samuel J Paparo, commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, visited the Indian Army’s Western Command headquarters and held discussions with Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar on strategic security dynamics along India’s Western Front.
Gor said the US-India defence partnership continues to grow stronger. He said the joint efforts of the two countries are key to a safe Indo-Pacific.
“US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor @USAmbIndia and #USINDOPACOM Commander, Adm Samuel J. Paparo, @sjpaparo visited HQ Western Command and held substantive discussions with Lt Gen #ManojKumarKatiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, Army Commander, #WesternCommand, on strategic security dynamics along India’s Western Front,” the Western Command of the Indian Army said in a post on X.
The Western Command headquarters is located in Chandimandir in Haryana’s Panchkula.
