Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Dončić remains one of the standout performers of the 2025–26 NBA season, but attention briefly shifted away from the court on Tuesday following reports of a legal filing involving his family. The 27-year-old guard has been central to the Lakers’ campaign this season, averaging 32.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game as he remains in the league’s Most Valuable Player discussion.
However, a report by TMZ Sports said Dončić’s fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, had filed a petition seeking child support for the couple’s two children.
According to court documents cited in the report, Goltes returned to Slovenia in May last year and both children have been living with her there since then.
The couple’s youngest child was born in December 2025. The filing does not request custody orders. Instead, it asks the court to establish child support and to cover attorney fees.
TMZ said the documents do not explain why the petition was filed at this time. Such filings can sometimes be used to formalise financial arrangements through US courts even when there is no dispute over custody.
At present, no public disagreement between Dončić and Goltes has been outlined in the paperwork, which focuses solely on financial support.
Neither Dončić nor Goltes has publicly commented on the report.
Dončić has continued to play a leading role for the Los Angeles Lakers during a crucial stage of the regular season.
His performances have kept him near the top of the NBA scoring charts and in the same award discussions as Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
With the season moving toward its final stretch and playoff positions still being decided, Dončić’s form remains central to the Lakers’ hopes.
For now, his on-court role with the team remains unchanged as the legal matter unfolds away from basketball.
