The state government of Kerala had announced school holidays specifically for December 9 and 11 due to the local body elections. This was announced to ensure that the voting process can happen smoothly, and also to ensure that students, parents and teachers also do not have to face any disruptions in case the schools are being used for election process, or if there are any traffic jams.
The Kerala Local Body Elections 2025 are being held in two phases. The first phase took place on December 9 and the second one will take place today, i.e. December 11, from 7 am to 6 pm. The vote counting will take place on December 13. Voting will happen in 1,199 local bodies across the state.
Schools will be closed today (on December 11) in these districts in Kerala:

Students should contact schools to check if online classes are being arranged, although no such order was issued.
Telangana
The southern state of Telangana is also hosting Panchayat elections, for which the first phase of polling will be held on December 11. Since some government and other schools may be utilised as polling stations, and teachers might be assigned duties, there is a possibility that schools may be ordered to remain closed on December 11 and 12.
