DK Metcalf was involved in a brief altercation with a fan during the first half of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.
Television footage broadcast by CBS showed the wide receiver appearing to swipe towards, and possibly strike, a fan seated near the front row of the stands. The fan was leaning over a railing and wearing a blue wig at the time of the incident.

The exchange unfolded quickly and was visible to nearby spectators, but did not draw the attention of match officials. It remains unclear what prompted the interaction or why Metcalf approached or responded to the fan. The footage showed the situation turning physical within seconds before ending without further escalation.
As the referees did not appear to notice the incident, Metcalf was not penalised and continued playing. The NFL is expected to review the video, and the league could consider disciplinary action ahead of the Steelers’ Week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns.
