Authorities are responding to reports of an active shooter at the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office in Wallace, Idaho, according to local media. The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office has also confirmed that online reports of an active shooter at the nearby Shoshone County Courthouse are accurate. The sheriff’s office and courthouse are located next to each other.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office said it is sending reinforcements to assist local authorities and urged the public to avoid the downtown Wallace area. “Please pray for all law enforcement and stay out of the downtown area in Wallace if possible,” the statement said.
Officials have not yet released further details, and confirmation of any injuries or the suspect’s status is still pending.
