The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released the list of 111 candidates for the West Bengal Assembly elections 2026. The polling in West Bengal will be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29. The counting of votes is set for May 4. Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) announced that it would be contesting on a total of 291 seats in Bengal out of 294 and released the names of all the candidates. The key fight in the state is going to take place between the BJP and the incumbent ruling party in power – TMC.
