Kamal revealed that he submitted six important demands to Vijay, explaining the need for stronger government support for the Tamil film industry, which he said is currently facing ‘various obstacles.’ The veteran actor also praised Vijay’s humility and warmth during the meeting, saying the interaction filled him with pride. Kamal’s continued support for Vijay’s political journey has been visible ever since the actor took oath as Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister earlier this month.

Kamal Haasan took to X to share details about his recent meeting with Vijay. The veteran star congratulated the new Chief Minister and appreciated his vision for Tamil Nadu’s future. “Today, I met in person with the Honorable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Brother Vijay, and conveyed my best wishes,” Kamal wrote. He further revealed that Vijay passionately spoke about several dreams and plans aimed at improving the state. Kamal was particularly impressed by Vijay’s personality during the interaction. Praising the actor-turned-politician, he said the humility and affection shown by Vijay during the meeting made him proud.
The Vikram actor also disclosed that he had submitted six important demands concerning the Tamil film industry. According to Kamal, the industry is facing multiple challenges and requires active support from the Tamil Nadu government to overcome them. Kamal did not publicly reveal the exact details of the six demands, and ended his post with, “May goodness flourish”.

Kamal Haasan’s support for Vijay
This is not the first time Kamal Haasan has publicly backed Vijay after his political rise. Following Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10, Kamal shared a sweet congratulatory note. He wished that the state of Tamil Nadu ‘shine under the leadership’ of Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, his ‘brother’ Thiru Vijay. “May it reach new heights. I convey my heartfelt congratulations,” Kamal wrote.
Earlier this week, Kamal Haasan had also applauded Vijay’s decision to shut down 717 liquor shops located near places of worship, educational institutions, and bus stands. Calling it a much-needed move, Kamal said that Tamil families had long expected such action from the government. He stressed that liquor sales should never become a function of the government and that authorities must instead focus on regulating alcohol consumption responsibly. Kamal welcomed the closure of the liquor outlets and urged the Tamil Nadu government to continue expanding the initiative in the future. He described the move as an important beginning and congratulated Vijay for acting quickly after assuming office.
