A group, including New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte, her security team, and bystanders, helped pull Mirman from the vehicle before it became fully engulfed in flames. State Police Colonel Mark Hall said a trooper and two bystanders removed him through a window after recognizing the severity of the crash.
Ayotte also exited her vehicle to assist and retrieved a fire extinguisher, though officials said she was not in danger. In a social media post, she thanked those involved for their “brave lifesaving efforts.”
Mirman sustained serious injuries but they are not believed to be life-threatening. He was taken to Elliot Hospital for treatment.
