An officer-involved shooting was reported in Springfield, Massachusetts. Massachusetts State Police were called to assist with the investigation.

State police were called in as part of standard procedure when a shooting involves a law enforcement officer.

An Alert Page on social media tweeted, “SPRINGFIELD,MA; OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING; MSP REQUESTED TO ASSIST WITH AN OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING.”

Police have not disclosed yet whether anyone was injured or what led to the event. The identities of the officer involved and others connected to the shooting are awaited.

Earlier in the day, another shooting incident was reported at Town East Mall in Texas’s Mesquite. It caused panic among shoppers.

An alert page on social media posted about the shooting. It stated, “Officer-involved shooting at Interstate 635 service road, Town East Mall. Shots fired by PD.”
