Social media platforms X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit experienced reported issues across United States and other regions of the world on Sunday, according to outage-tracking website Downdetector.
Thousands of users turned to the platform to say they were facing trouble accessing the services.
Downdetector posted on X that user reports indicated problems with X starting at 4.14 pm EST. Shortly before that, the site also said Reddit users began reporting issues around 3.58 pm EST.
Many users said they were unable to load feeds, post content, or refresh pages. Others reported slow performance, login problems, or error messages while trying to access the platforms on both mobile apps and desktop browsers.
Neither X nor Reddit had released an official statement explaining the cause of the disruptions. It is also unclear how long the outages would last or whether they were linked to technical failures, server issues, or maintenance problems.
What Users Said
Many Reddit users said they could not upload or view images and videos properly. Others said content would load one moment and disappear the next.
One user wrote, “Images and videos are turning on and off.” Another added, “Images and videos are now a hit and miss.”

At the same time, users of X also began reporting problems. Several X users shared their frustration in the comments. One person wrote, “is x down or am i going insane.”
Another asked, “Is X down again? Why reach is so down today?” A third user complained, “damn is the communities down??? Twitter FIX THE APP.”
