d4vd update: who is neo langston friend arrested in relation to celeste rivas death case

A new development has emerged in the ongoing investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, as Neo Langston, a friend of singer D4vd, was arrested in Montana after failing to appear in court as a witness in Los Angeles, according to law enforcement sources.

Rivas’ decomposed body was discovered on September 8 inside the front trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd at a Los Angeles tow yard. The vehicle had been impounded after being reported abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, where neighbors said it had been parked for more than a month. The LAPD investigation into the teenager’s death remains ongoing.

Who Is Neo Langston?

Neo Langston, 23, is described as a friend of D4vd and a well-known online streamer. County jail records show Langston was arrested on January 22 in Lewis and Clark County, Montana, on an out-of-state warrant after failing to appear as a witness in Los Angeles.

Montana officials told TMZ that Langston is being held without bond. NBC4 Investigates reported it is working to determine whether Langston’s detention is directly related to the Los Angeles grand jury proceedings connected to the Rivas case. Several witnesses, including D4vd’s former tour manager, have already testified before the grand jury.

Latest on D4vd–Celeste Rivas Case

Singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, was identified by an LAPD source in November as a suspect in connection with Celeste Rivas’ death. Rivas, who went missing from the Lake Elsinore area on April 5, 2024, was identified through forensic testing. The medical examiner has not yet determined a cause of death, and law enforcement sources said the remains found inside the Tesla were not intact.

At the time the body was discovered, D4vd was on a world tour, which began in August and was later canceled. His Tesla had been impounded days earlier following reports it was abandoned. Family members have said Rivas knew the singer, and her brother stated she disappeared while on her way to see a movie with him.

TMZ reported that Los Angeles County prosecutors are seeking an indictment and believe D4vd was involved in the teen’s death. The outlet also reported the singer is “likely” to face murder charges. The grand jury process is ongoing, with additional witnesses expected to testify through February 2026.
