This was after the fast bowler suffered a knee injury. On the other hand, they will also be without Washington Sundar, who is recovering from a injury.
India will look to start their campaign with a win, as they look to become the first team ever to win back-to-back T20 World Cups.
India will also go in without Sanju Samson in the playing XI, with Ishan Kishan dethroning him to become the first-choice wicketkeeper-batter.
USA are certainly no pushovers. They showed that they can bat deep in the two warm-up games against India A and New Zealand, scoring 200+ in both games.
