Emergency management officials issued a serious warning on Saturday after reports of an active shooter near Farmstead Lane in Delta Township, Michigan.
Authorities urged everyone in the area to stay inside, lock their doors, and avoid the neighborhood completely until further notice.
Officials warned residents in a strong public alert stating, “You could be shot, injured or killed. Shooter has not been caught by police. AVOID area until further notice. DO NOT confront shooter.”
Police, deputies, and tactical units rushed to the scene after the alert was sent out. Roads near Farmstead Lane were blocked as officers began searching for the suspect.
The situation reportedly began with multiple emergency calls from Farmstead Lane, a residential area in Delta Township. Officers received reports that a person with a weapon had been seen in the neighborhood.
Officials have not confirmed whether anyone has been shot or injured so far. The authorities have not yet released details about the suspect.
Another Shooting Incident
A major police and fire response took place at Springfield Town Center, also known as Springfield Mall, after reports of a shooting on Saturday. Fairfax County Police and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue units moved in after receiving emergency calls from inside the mall.
Early information from officials confirmed that one person was injured, but details about the victim’s condition have not yet been released. First responders were seen entering the building and checking nearby areas as shoppers rushed to evacuate.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews treated the injured victim, who was later transported for medical care.
