Designers Are Giving Modest Fashion a Major Upgrade This Ramadan, and We’re Loving Every Chic Moment

designers are giving modest fashion a major upgrade this ramadan, and we’re loving every chic moment

The holy month of Ramadan is under way. It is a sacred period for Muslims, but it is also a time to meet loved ones, and with that comes every reason to dress up and flaunt the fashion statement. Interestingly, over the last couple of years, modest fashion has been increasingly targeted by designers, largely thanks to social media and a young cosmopolitan population. It has moved beyond the unfashionable pieces that were once associated with conservative dressing. With strong spending power in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia, couture houses are keen to tap into this market.

According to a report published by Research and Markets, “The Saudi Arabia Fashion Market was valued at USD 4.25 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach USD 5.70 billion by 2030, rising at a CAGR of 5.07%. The Saudi Arabian fashion market is witnessing significant growth, fuelled by changing consumer preferences and a younger, fashion conscious population. As the country diversifies its economy through Vision 2030, the fashion and retail sectors have become pivotal to its development. International brands are increasingly entering the market, while local designers are gaining recognition. E commerce is rapidly expanding, offering consumers more convenience and a broader range of choices.”

The younger generation wants to dress according to their faith, but will not compromise on style.

Here is a look at the designer capsule collections for Ramadan, featuring some of the most luxurious pieces that are both chic and comfortable. These are showstopping designs to help you look fabulous at your iftar meals and Eid al Fitr celebrations.

Ferragamo

Ferragamo’s Ramadan 2026 capsule was shot in Morocco. Titled “Threads of Light”, the campaign is narrated by Emirati poet Fatima AlJarman. Moroccan architecture plays an important role in the storytelling. The capsule includes silk and sequin sets that can be worn together or as separates. It also features evening shoes such as Gancini slingbacks and ankle strap heels suited to iftar and suhoor gatherings. The colour palette of black, plum and navy gives the collection a luxurious yet modest feel.

DKNY

DKNY has collaborated with Dubai based street artist Dina Saadi. The collection has been designed exclusively for the Middle East and draws inspiration from the beauty of Ramadan evenings. It features fluid silhouettes and soft tones, with a signature DKNY touch, including dresses and kaftan inspired styles in warm neutral and earthy palettes.

Elie Saab

The collection called Oasis Bloom, features fluid silhouettes, muted tones, and meticulous detailing suited for every Ramadan celebration. The Ramadan 2026 capsule has been inspired by the calm beauty of a desert oasis, and combines cream, pink-bronze, jasmine, and coral hues. A desert flower motif is seen through the collection, and it symbolises strength and renewal. It includes draped jumpsuits, chiffon kaftans, sequin embroidered tulle dresses and more.

Miu Miu

The Miu Miu Ramadan and Eid collection features Saudi model Taleeda Tamer. According to the Italian label, the “campaign reflects a sense of quiet elegance and modern ease, aligning with the spirit of togetherness and reflection that defines the season”.

According to Miu Miu, “The ready to wear selection is defined by clean lines and relaxed silhouettes, conceived for ease and versatility from day to evening. Cotton dresses, denim pieces, lightweight knitwear and logo accented outerwear are rendered in a restrained palette of black, white and nuanced tones of green, grey and brown, with subtle crystal embroidery adding a soft note of luminosity.”

Maison Valentino

The “Sama 2026 Capsule Collection” ushers in Ramadan with six women’s ready to wear looks and Valentino Garavani accessories. The capsule features rose gold gowns, kimono inspired sets, kaftans and textured, feathered details.
