The Gujarati film Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate was a surprise hit that grew with strong word of mouth after its release in theatres on October 10, 2025. A Hindi-dubbed version was released on January 9, 2026. Now, both versions are making their way to more audiences with its OTT debut. The streaming service announced the release date with an optimistic message about the spiritual film. It said, “When faith feels fragile and hope seems far away, sometimes all you need is a reminder that you’re never alone.” The trailer highlights the survival story of a poor rickshaw driver named Laalo (Shruhad Goswami) who finds himself trapped inside a remote farmhouse trying to earn some money. The desperate Laalo has no means to escape and no way to let his family know of his fate.

Suddenly, divine visions of Lord Krishna begin to appear to Laalo, and he finds himself revealing his deepest fears about his current situation and his young wife Tulsi (Reeva Rachh) and daughter he left behind. Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate is also about Laalo’s deeply personal path toward redemption and spiritual awakening, which has resonated with audiences.

The Gujarati film had a strong week-by-week performance and made history as the first Gujarati film to gross over Rs 100 crore. It made this achievement in 51 days, overtaking the collections of Chaal Jeevi Laiye (2019), which was the highest-grossing Gujarati film until then. In its fifth weekend, Laalo earned more that entire earnings of its first four weeks, which was unheard of for a regional film.

Director Ankit Sakhiya revealed that Laalo was always a deeply personal story for the team. They wanted to present a film that captured devotion without preaching and presented faith as comfort, guidance, and healing.
